The Safe Way To Permanent Weight Loss

About Me

About Me

Hi, about me, I hope, will explain how I became involved in weight loss, and thank you for visiting my website.

I developed this weight loss siteSafe Weight Loss 4 All - About Me hoping to help people who are overweight to lose excess weight safely and permanently.

It doesn’t recommend the use of fad diets, “miracle” weight loss pills or slimming aids. (See post Slimming Aids – The Risks.

But what it will do, through its pages and posts, is show how you can lose weight safely and permanently. Although it also requires a combination of determination, willpower, and a healthy calorie controlled diet and exercise.

So, about me. My name is Brian Shaw and I was married to my wife for fifty-seven years, she died two years ago. I have two married daughters, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. I live in Cumbria, UK, on the edge of the Lake District.

Served six years as an apprenticed compositor in the printing industry. Upon completion of apprenticeship, I worked for quite a number of years designing and typesetting pages for various publishing companies. A number of these specialized in publishing health and weight loss magazines, books and periodicals. Through this I gained an in-depth knowledge of the problems excess weight and obesity can have on health and lifestyle.

How I Became Involved In Weight Loss

An embarrassing incident involving myself and a friend while visiting a football (soccer depending on which country you reside in) ground. The ground, in the lower division of the English football league, led me to becoming involved in health and weight loss.

My friend weighed around twenty-two stone (308 lbs) at the time, got stuck in the turnstile entering the ground. But when we eventually freed him we found the seats were too small for him to sit in. We finished up standing in another part of the ground. Was he embarrassed? You bet he was!

So, on returning home we discussed his weight problem. I said, with the knowledge I already had, I would help him if he would think seriously about losing weight. So together, along with advice from his general practitioner, we devised a series of diets, and exercises. These helped him to lose weight and slowly build up his fitness levels.

My friend, although a lot older, weighed fourteen stone (196 lbs), about the correct weight for his height and build, and exercised regularly until his death at the age of 78 years.
